To Joseph Stalin: Stop sending people to kill me! We've already captured five of them, one of them with a bomb and another with a rifle... If you don't stop sending killers, I'll send a very fast working one to Moscow and I certainly won't have to send another.
Yugoslavia is, along with Iran, the only nation which, under difficult circumstances... stood up to Joseph Stalin. It was not easy to unify the ethnic groups, to modernize a nation like Yugoslavia, and one must recognise that marshal Tito has fulfilled an extraordinary task. God willing, his successors will show themselves to be just as capable.josip broz tito
Capitalism has been fully restored in Yugoslavia, as is well-known, but this capitalism knows how to disguise. Yugoslavia portrays itself as a socialist state, but of a special kind, as the world has never seen it before! The Titoites even boast that their state has nothing in common with the first socialist state which emerged from the socialist October Revolution and which was founded by Lenin and Stalin on the basis of the scientific theory of Marx and Engels.enver hoxha
If Stalin had learned to play cricket, the world might now be a better place.
The House has noticed the Prime Minister's remarkable transformation in the past few weeks, from Stalin to Mr. Bean.gordon brown
The whole history of my life, and in essence the whole history of the working class consists of this: that we have lived and fought under the leadership of Lenin and Stalin.mikhail kalinin
Kim Il Sung not only presided over the birth of a new nation in an old land, he was inextricably bound to the fate of North Korea. Perhaps to a greater degree than any other modern political leader, he may be seen as the full embodiment of the state. Indeed, Kim was more integral to state and society in North Korea than Stalin in the Soviet Union, or Mao in China.kim il-sung
Under Hitler or Stalin a Góral [Tatra-highlander] could choose to produce oscypek [smoked cheese] however he preferred. Nowadays the EU official is watching him.janusz korwin-mikke
For a long time I've been telling Stalin that Beria is a crook but Stalin won't listen.grigoriy ordzhonikidze
I rather liked Stalin and Molotov, got along fine with them.joachim von ribbentrop
What will happen once the authentic mass man takes over, we do not know yet, although it may be a fair guess that he will have more in common with the meticulous, calculated correctness of Himmler than with the hysterical fanaticism of Hitler , will more resemble the stubborn dullness of Molotov than the sensual vindictive cruelty of Stalin .hannah arendt
The left has always been on the wrong side. They were against Hitler , but not against Stalin .Silvio Berlusconi
If the German people lay down their weapons, the Soviets, according to the agreement between Roosevelt , Churchill , and Stalin , would occupy all of East and Southeast Europe along with the greater part of the Reich. An iron curtain would fall over this enormous territory controlled by the Soviet Union, behind which nations would be slaughtered.joseph goebbels
Pogroms are as old as Christendom; but without railways, the telegraph and poison gas there could have been no Holocaust. There have always been tyrannies; but without modern means of transport and communication, Stalin and Mao could not have built their gulags.john n. gray
I can only express satisfaction that the Dear Leader is joining the likes of Gaddafi , Bin Laden, Hitler , and Stalin in a warm corner of hell.john mccain
If Stalin could only see us now, with the American Ambassador here, he'd turn in his grave.anastas mikoyan
Like Lenin Comrade Stalin is a leader of a higher type. He is a mountain eagle, without fear in the fight, who boldly leads the bolshevik party on unexplored roads toward the total victory of Communism.anastas mikoyan
Of course, fanatical Communists and Russophiles generally can be respected, even if they are mistaken.:; But for people like ourselves, who suspect that something has gone very wrong with the Soviet Union, I consider that willingness to criticize Russia and Stalin is the test of intellectual honesty.:; It is the only thing that from a literary intellectual's point of view is really dangerous.george orwell
Yugoslavia is, with Iran, the only country which under difficult, not to say agonising, circumstances stood up to Joseph Stalin. It was not easy to unite ethnic groups or to modernize a country like Yugoslavia, and it must be acknowledged that Marshal Tito achieved something extraordinary. May God grant that his successors be as capable as he.muhammad reza pahlavi
In the early 1920s, the Communists believed, a priori , that Germany and other European countries were ripe for internal revolution, and indeed Germany was not far from going Communist in these years. But later on, these hopes died, and Stalin, particularly after the ouster of the fanatic Trotsky, who always wanted immediate revolutions everywhere, settled down to calm concentration on “socialism in one country.”
Generalissimo Stalin directed every move ... made every decision ... He is the greatest and wisest military genius who ever lived...
For Macedonia to be recognized as an independent state, it would be necessary to change its name [...] It is historically proven that the Yugoslavian Democracy of Macedonia was created by Stalin, Tito and Dimitrov, aiming at the stealthy removal of a large part of Northern Greece. This Democracy was used during the period 1944-1949 in order to destabilise Greece.
There isn't much point arguing about the word "libertarian." It would make about as much sense to argue with an unreconstructed Stalinist about the word "democracy" recall that they called what they'd constructed "peoples' democracies." The weird offshoot of ultra-right individualist anarchism that is called "libertarian" here happens to amount to advocacy of perhaps the worst kind of imaginable tyranny, namely unaccountable private tyranny. If they want to call that "libertarian," fine; after all, Stalin called his system "democratic." But why bother arguing about it?
2 Kalki 02:14, 11 December 2008 (UTC) Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed. ~ Joseph Stalin
Two break-throughs, Comrade Stalin, two break-throughs.
