John William Cheever Quotes

1912 - 1982

US  short-story  writer  and novelist.  He  sold his first  short  story, 'Expelled', after being thrown out of school at the age of17, and became  a regular contributor  to  the NewYorker, writing lyrical tales  of  alcoholism,  adultery  and  loss.  His  novels  include The Wapshot Chronicle (1957) and Falconer (1977).

   Yevtushenko has?an ego that can crack crystal at a distance of 20 feet.

Recalled on Cheever's death,18  Jun1982.
