Prakriti is called by the Sânkhya philosophers indiscreet, and defined as the perfect balance of the materials in it; and it naturally follows that in perfect balance there cannot be any motion . In the primal state before any manifestation , when there was no motion but perfect balance, this Prakriti was indestructible, because decomposition or death comes from instability or change.
O ye unto whom the Bayán is given! Be ye vigilant lest in the days of Him Whom God shall make manifest, while ye consider yourselves as seeking God’s pleasure, in reality ye persist in that which would only displease Him, even as did those who lived in the days of the primal Point, to whom it never occurred that they were seeking things which ran counter to that which God had purposed.báb
Not philosophy, after all, not humanity, just sheer joyous power of song, is the primal thing in poetry.
The worst crime is to leave a man's hands empty. Men are born makers, with that primal simplicity in every maker since Adam.
"When we're making music together, it's like five men making love-in a very platonic sense. It's very erotic, because your spirits are intermingling, you're becoming one. It's also why it can get so heated. You're tapping into this electricity that's very primal."brandon boyd
Heart-hidden from the outer things I rose; The spirit woke anew in nightly birthUnto the vastness where forever glowsThe star-soul of the earth. There all alone in primal ecstasy,Within her depths where revels never tire,The Olden Beauty shines: each thought of meIs veined through with its fire.george william russell
Spider-Man is a genuine American myth with a dark, primal power … but it’s also got this great superhero, and — hey! — he can fly through the theater at 40 miles an hour. It’s got villains, it’s got skyscrapers, it’s colorful, it’s Manhattan. I knew it would be a challenge, but I saw the inherent theatricality in it, and I couldn’t resist.julie taymor
Number, as it were, lies behind the psychic realm as a dynamic ordering principle, the primal element of which Jung called spirit. As an archetype, number becomes not only a psychic factor, but more generally, a world-structuring factor. In other words, numbers point to a background reality in which psyche and matter are no longer distinguishable.marie-louise von franz
. . . you would be well advised to practice extreme discrimination on what filters through to that area of the brain that requires belief. Some or the more lucid, literate and better educated folks will tell you that they have conquered that base, primal nature of humanity and will inform that their brains do not require the gullible mechanism of blind acceptance called belief and their brains function far more clearly and with greater cogence. Just remember, Santa Claus is waiting.kenny young
We debase the richness of both nature and our own minds if we view the great pageant of our intellectual history as a compendium of new information leading from primal superstition to final exactitude. We know that the sun is hub of our little corner of the universe, and that ties of genealogy connect all living things on our planet, because these theories assemble and explain so much otherwise disparate and unrelated information not because Galileo trained his telescope on the moons of Jupiter or because Darwin took a ride on a Galápagos tortoise.stephen jay gould
If, as many anthropologists still hold, the making and using of tools as one of the chief sources of primitive man's intellectual development, is it not time that we asked ourselves what will happen to man if he departs as completely as he now threatens to do from his primal polytechnic occupations? Since they can no longer be pursued at a profit, perhaps they will have to be restored as modes of sport and recreation, even more as helpful increasingly essential forms of personal service and mutual aid.Lewis Mumford
At last, Mythic feeling and conscious perception no longer confront each other as antagonists but as allies. Passionate nationalism is no longer directed toward tribal, dynastic or theological loyalties, but toward that primal substance, the racially based nationhood itself. Here is the message which will one day melt away all dross, eliminate all that is base, and bring into being all that is noble.alfred rosenberg
Nor need the fact that rejections of god have taken place in certain parts of the earth and will often take place hereafter, disturb the mind of the wise: both because these things do not affect the Gods, just as we saw that worship did not benefit them; and because the soul, being of middle essence, cannot be always right; and because the whole world cannot enjoy the providence of the Gods equally, but some parts may partake of it eternally, some at certain times, some in the primal manner, some in the secondary.sallustius
The primal duties shine aloft, like stars : The charities that soothe, and heal, and bless Are scattered at the feet of Man, like flowers.william wordsworth
Prakriti and maya are similar concepts. Prakriti is the primal matter with the qualities of sattva , rajas , and tamas , whereas maya is cosmic ignorance with the triple powers of satva rajas and tamas.
In Prakriti and Gunas , the concept of prakriti is used in Sankhya philosophy to explain the evolution of the universe . Prakriti is defined as the ultimate unconscious primal matter or the ultimate cosmic energy, the material cause of the universe.
Mantra is a vehicle to bring our minds, hearts and prana to the level of both primal sound and primal meaning , in which we can return to the original state of unity with all. This requires that we use mantras with an intention, focus and aspiration to reach the supreme.
Kali represents the disintegrative force in nature as displayed in the passage of time and an increase in entropy. Kali is symbolized in the yantra as black. The downward pointing triangle is the ancient symbol of the primal female, the origin of all things – the pubic triangle of the Great Goddess.
Sow but one seed of primal evil in the moral soil of a nation, it will grow to be a tree as broad as the sky, to take fruitful- ness from the earth wherein it is rooted, and to cover it instead with barrenness and gloom.
O how far remov'd, Predestination! is thy foot from such As see not the First Cause entire: and ye, O mortal men! be wary how ye judge: For we, who see the Maker, know not yet The number of the chosen; and esteem Such scantiness of knowledge our delight: For all our good is, in that primal good, Concentrate; and God's will and ours are one.dante alighieri
Once you've been with each other in a primal, shagging state, it's hard to talk about the weather.
Only the soul that is naked and unashamed, can be pure and innocent , even as Adam was in the primal garden of humanity .sri aurobindo
Our philosophy … reduceth to a single origin and relateth to a single end , and maketh contraries to coincide so that there is one primal foundation both of origin and of end. From this coincidence of contraries, we deduce that ultimately it is divinely true that contraries are within contraries; wherefore it is not difficult to compass the knowledge that each thing is within every other.
Nor need the fact that rejections of god have taken place in certain parts of the earth and will often take place hereafter, disturb the mind of the wise: both because these things do not affect the Gods, just as we saw that worship did not benefit them; and because the soul, being of middle essence, cannot be always right; and because the whole world cannot enjoy the providence of the Gods equally, but some parts may partake of it eternally, some at certain times, some in the primal manner, some in the secondary.
In the time of the First Manifestation the primal Will appeared in Adam.
