I realized that the only possible response was to go to my wonderful local café, Maison Bertaux, check everyone was well, eat a little cake and then make art. To me, making art, and in particular public art, is always an assertion of our humanity and our strength.
I found there, on the central square ( Václavské nám?stí ), a café that miraculously worked through this emergency. I remember they had wonderful strawberry cakes, and I was sitting there eating strawberry cakes and watching Russian tanks against demonstrators. It was perfect.slavoj Žižek
Boccioni, Russolo and I all met in the Porta Vittoria café (in Milan), close to where we all lived, and we enthusiastically outlined a draft of our appeal.
