"Attack life, it's just gonna kill you anyway."
He had developed his own limited, or very simple style. He was never very keen on improving himself as a bass player and half the time I would play bass on the records because I would tend to do it quicker. Right back to those early records; I mean, at least half the bass on all recorded output is me anyway. … Rog used to come in and say, "Thank you very much" to me once in a while for winning him bass-playing polls.david gilmour
I wore that because it makes me look beautiful. I stare at myself in the mirror and I think, "Wow, I'm really great-looking." ... I think I'm the greatest, anyway.Iggy Pop
The citizen who thinks he sees that the commonwealth's political clothes are worn out, and yet holds his peace and does not agitate for a new suit, is disloyal, he is a traitor. That he may be the only one who thinks he sees this decay, does not excuse him: it is his duty to agitate anyway, and it is the duty of others to vote him down if they do not see the matter as he does.mark twain
Economists tell us that the 'price' of an object and its 'value' have very little or nothing to do with one another. 'Value' is entirely subjective economic value, anyway while 'price' reflects whatever a buyer is willing to give up to get the object in question, and whatever the seller is willing to accept to give it up. Both are governed by the Law of Marginal Utility, which is actually a law of psychology, rather than economics. For government to attempt to dictate a 'fair price' betrays complete misunderstanding of the entire process.l. neil smith
I'm the out-of-court jester who won't settle, I up the vigilante, I'm a law unto myself but break it anyway! I made a forced landing on the Moebius Strip and now I want to know, which side are you on?bob black
There is no meaningful distinction between eating flesh and eating dairy or other animal products. Animals exploited in the dairy industry live longer than those used for meat, but they are treated worse during their lives, and they end up in the same slaughterhouse after which we consume their flesh anyway. There is probably more suffering in a glass of milk or an ice cream cone than there is in a steak.gary l. francione
If something seems possible, that's probably because someone is already doing it. When something seems that it can't possibly work, nobody tries it. Real innovation happens when someone tries anyway, overlooking an obvious flaw, and finds a way to make an idea work.joel spolsky
Not that a car would have been much faster anyway, what with the police posts at state lines, the searches, the restricted zones not merely in cities one expected that during August but right out in the country, in agricultural areas. Because of hijackers after food trucks, of course.john brunner
I think that, like in my writing, reality is always a soap bubble, Silly Putty thing anyway. In the universe people are in, people put their hands through the walls, and it turns out they're living in another century entirely. ... I often have the feeling and it does show up in my books that this is all just a stage.philip kindred dick
Then the big white whale, Clinton . What about someone who is a war criminal, a taker of bribes from foreign dictatorships , almost certainly a rapist (plausibly accused, anyway, by three believable women, of rape), executed a black man (Ricky Ray Rector) who was so mentally retarded that he was unable to plead or to understand the charges You're against all that, right? But you're for it when it's someone who you think is a "New Democrat".christopher hitchens
If they cut off both hands, I will compose music anyway holding the pen in my teeth.dmitri shostakovich
According to the theory of aerodynamics, as may be readily demonstrated through wind tunnel experiments, the bumblebee is unable to fly. This is because the size, weight and shape of his body in relation to the total wingspread make flying impossible. But the bumblebee, being ignorant of these scientific truths, goes ahead and flies anyway and makes a little honey every day.Sign in a General Motors Corporation plant, reported in Ralph L. Woods, The Businessman's Book of Quotations (1951), p. 249–50. Compare: "Antoine Magnan, a French zoologist, in 1934 made some very careful studies of bumblebee flight and came to the conclusion that bumblebees cannot fly at all! Fortunately, the bumblebees never heard this bit of news and so went on flying as usual". Ross E. Hutchins, Insects (1968), p. 68. Magnan's 1934 work was Le Vol des Insectes (vol. 1 of La Locomotion Chez les Animaux).
And, anyway, what sort of new Macedonian nation can this be when we and our fathers and grandfathers and great-grandfathers have always been called Bulgarians?Krste Misirkov, "On Macedonian Matters", Macedonian Review Editions 1974, (Sofia 1903)
This place sucks, anyway.Who: Billy Nolan
If it goes on hurting like this, I think I'd rather be dead anyway.Who: Mark Braddock
I'm a better actor now than I ever was, I wish I could have hurried that up, but there's no way. anyway, I always wanted to be around for a long time. Like a European actor, I hope I live a long time and that I'm acting until I finish.Christopher Walken
